I'm Back From The Island =D

Hey people!!

As you can see, I'm back from Penang. I came back yesterday at around 4 but I've been pretty tired and I only uploaded the pictures today so I'm only blogging now. =)

Forgive me if I make any grammatical mistakes or typos cause I'm watching the Netherlands and Brazil game while blogging. =P

The trip was really fun and awesome. The apartment we stayed at wasn't exactly up to our expectations but it was a pretty okay place. It was pretty near some shops and the 'pasar malam' so it was cool plus it was like so worth the money. It was like only RM100 for 3 nights per person. So if you wanna do the math its like RM100 X 6 = RM600 for 4 days in a 3 bedroom apartment with Astro and a view of the swimming pool. It was definitely value for money. Just for those of who want to know, we stayed in Batu Feringghi. :)

Seeing as this IS a long post, I might break it up into 2 posts cause I'm gonna talk about everything in detail for the sake of re-reading this a few years down the road and being all nostalgic cause that's how I roll. ;) Brace yourselves.

Day 1
We (Adrianna, Natasha, Victor, Evelyn, Jian Yung and myself) took the Aeroline Bus it was pretty cool. They had a screen behind every seat and everything. It really felt like a plane only with wheels. haha. We had Subway and a choice of coffee, tea or water for our meal that's provided. The ride was pretty okay. We arrived earlier than expected which was like 12.3opm, expected time of arrival was 1pm. We met Keat Yang, his sister Huey Kee (I'm sorry if I spelt her name wrongly. =] ) and Jian Wei (our tour guides and transporters during our whole stay there) at the Queensbay Mall. Some of us were pretty hungry so we went to Wong Kok to have lunch. We went get some snacks to stock up for the late nights we knew we were going to have. =P. So after that, we checked into the apartment and hung around there for a little while.

After we changed, we were off to the Gurney area. We took a walk to the shore of the beach, well not really the shore la but the coast? Okay I have no idea how to explain that but you'll get what I mean when you see the pictures.

You can see that like their's this wall there so we're not really on the beach itself. =)

This just reminded me of Buckingham Palace for some reason. XD

My reaction when I first saw it : O_O

Some of the other places we visited

So we spent sometime there and moved on to Fort Cornwallis. The funniest thing we found there was in the chapel, there was an air-con. super LOL moment. XD

The air-con I was talking about.

Anyways, we walked around there and took some pictures and sorta hung out watching the sunset and then went for dinner. Dinner was DELICIOUS!! YUM-NESS!!! And I found out that in Penang, Hokkien Mee isn't the black sauce version we get here in Klang, its actually Har Mee (Prawn Mee) and it was awesome sial!! I've never tasted anything so nice before. Okay, I admit that I've never been a Har Mee fan. I would choose lots of other food above Har Mee. When I ordered that I was actually expecting the black sauce version so when Har Mee came, I was like"O_O. What's this?" Then my friend told me that in Penang, this is Hokkien Mee and the black sauce one is called Hokkien Cha. Confusing eh. Penang really has a unique way of doing things. Their Hokkien is different from the usual Hokkien and even what they call some of their foods but I guess that's what makes them so special. Oh the place that we went to was New Lane.

The delicious bowl of heavenly Har Mee for only RM 3. =D

Anyways, we went to the 'pasar malam' on Macallum Road (forgive me if I spelt it wrong. I'm spelling it as I hear it) Walked around a bit then decided to go sit sum where to wait for the rest. And while waiting I finally decided to get a crepe. The wait was killer. People just cut in front of you to order and the waiting involved just to get yours. But it was all worth is. I had a chicken ham with seaweed and cheese. YUMMM!!!! *drools* Enjoyed every bite. Just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. =P

After the 'pasar malam', we went back to the apartment and hung around. Victor and I had an Uno session in which I owned him. muahahahaha. We were pretty beat so we headed to bed at about 2am.

The Uno session.

Jian Yung was dared to stuff as many marshmallows in his mouth
and he managed to stuff 10. hahaha.

End of day 1. =D

Day 2
We went for brunch at this nice high class mamak stall which had some pretty good food. Then we headed back to the apartment to change to hike to get to Pantai Kerachut where they say is really nice. Before we went hiking, we went to the Hard Rock Hotel. And damn, it was awesome. The pool everything was superb. Now, I know why it costs approximately RM700 a night. X_X.

The back of the hotel; the part facing the sea

I liked the symbols they used especially the female one.

One part of the swimming pool.

Oh man. I never expected the hiking to be so hard when I first heard about it. and because I didn't expect it to be so hard, I packed a whole load of stuff. =_='. Because I packed so much damn stuff, I was so weighed down that I couldn't keep up with the others and I was pretty out of breath. A lot of times, I felt like I wasn't breathing enough for my heart. Anyways, Jian Wei was nice enough to carry my bag until like the halfway point. THANKS SO MUCH JIAN WEI!! I really appreciate it. =) When we finally got there, oh man, nothing can describe the feeling of achievement. Cause by the time we reached the beach it was like 3-ish and it was scorching hot so sitting under the trees with the wind blowing was heaven until I decided to step onto the sand that wasn't protected by the shade of the trees. You should hear the screaming man. It really felt like stepping on hot stones. I had to wear shoes to run across the sand. Took a walk with Evelyn up and down the shoreline talking about different issues in our lives and all that. We hung around there till about 4. Cause the hike up was already so torturous, some of them had arranged for a boat to come pick us up.

The view from where I was sitting of Pantai Kerachut

The boat ride which cost RM10 was so worth it. We saw eagles' nest and eagles flying around the top of the trees. Then we saw a rock that looked like a crocodile and turtle. And then we saw a pair of eagles dating in their nest which was really cool. The whole ride was so awesome but I didn't take pictures. My bag with my phone was with Victor and I was sitting quite far from him and at the speed we were going, I didn't wanna be standing up. =P

Anyways, from there we went home to clean up for dinner. We went to Sunset Bistro at the Batu Feringghi beach to watch the sunset and have our dinner. The place was really nice and the food was pretty good. And the price was pretty reasonable, about the same price as food in Klang and Subang. After dinner we (Adrianna, Victor and I) walked on the beach and had some very funny conversations. XD We decided to hang out at the bar. I shared a Malibu Sprite with Adrianna and honestly it tasted like cough mixture. =S . We headed back home and hung out there. Adrianna, Victor and I had a very very epicly funny Uno and Big 2 (Cho Tai Ti) session. hahaha. That was an awesome session.

My baked beans and cheese jacket potato which was okay.

And that's what we pretty much did for the first 2 days.

Sorry its like so freaking long. I hoped you enjoyed reading and I'll post the second part hopefully sometime these few days but I'll only post the 2nd part if you guys had fun reading this first part. =) If you didn't like how long it was then I'll remove it and make a new post on something different. ;) So let me know in my cbox whether you want the second part. =D

Bye people!!

P/S : I'll continue to add colour, pictures and all that hopefully by tomorrow cause it 3am and I haven't had decent sleep in a few days and I know I need to sleep, no matter how tempted I am to stay up to watch another episode of Bones. :)

I knew it I was holding on to a wish.
I knew the truth.
But can you blame me for wishing?
To wish that I would one day have you again?

I'm listening to,
